Instructions
- Prepare the mashed potatoes: Peel and boil potatoes until tender, then drain and mash them until smooth. Stir in butter, heavy cream or milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Fold in freshly grated Parmesan cheese until well combined and creamy.
- Cool and bind the mixture: Allow the mashed potatoes to cool slightly, then mix in the beaten egg to help bind the bites and maintain their shape during cooking.
- Shape the bites: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form the mixture into bite-sized balls or small patties, according to your preference.
- Coat with bread crumbs: Roll each formed bite in bread crumbs until fully coated to ensure a crispy outer crust.
- Cook until golden brown: Bake the bites in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes, turning as necessary to achieve even, golden crispiness. Alternatively, you may deep-fry or shallow-fry them until golden and crispy.
