  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 24 truffles 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 20 Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz (340g) white chocolate chips
  • Food coloring (optional, for tinting chocolate)
  • Sprinkles or edible decorations, as desired

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place Oreo cookies in a food processor or sealed bag; crush them until you have fine crumbs with a little texture remaining. This forms the base for your truffle dough.
  2. Mix the Oreo crumbs with cream cheese: In a bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until a thick, dough-like consistency is achieved that holds together when pressed.
  3. Shape the mixture into eggs: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form the mixture into small egg shapes about the size of a large walnut for bite-sized truffles.
  4. Chill the shaped truffles: Place the shaped eggs on a lined baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up for easier dipping.
  5. Melt the white chocolate: Gently melt white chocolate chips using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently. Add food coloring if desired to tint the coating.
  6. Dip the chilled truffles in chocolate: Using a fork or dipping tool, coat each truffle completely with melted white chocolate. Tap off excess chocolate and place them back on the lined sheet.
  7. Decorate and set: Immediately sprinkle festive decorations on top before the chocolate hardens. Chill again until firm, about 15 minutes, before serving.

Notes

  • Use cream cheese at room temperature for smooth mixing.
  • Work quickly when dipping since chocolate sets fast.
  • Line trays with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Adjust egg size to suit your serving needs.
  • Store truffles refrigerated to maintain texture and freshness.
