Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 5 large flour tortillas (soft but sturdy)
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 5 tostada shells or crunchy tortilla chips
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
Optional Extras
- Jalapeños, diced, to taste
- Guacamole, for serving
- Black beans, cooked
- Corn kernels, cooked
Instructions
- Prepare the Meat Filling: Cook the ground beef or chicken in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain the excess fat, then add taco seasoning along with a splash of water. Simmer the mixture until the flavors meld together beautifully.
- Warm the Tortillas: Gently heat the large flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds to make them more pliable and easier to fold.
- Assemble the Crunch Wrap Layers: Lay a warm tortilla flat and spread a generous spoonful of nacho cheese sauce in the center. Add a layer of cooked meat on top, then place a tostada shell or crunchy tortilla chips over the meat for that signature crunch.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Evenly layer shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and dollops of sour cream over the crunchy layer to provide a perfect mix of textures and flavors.
- Fold and Seal: Carefully fold the tortilla edges up around the fillings, overlapping the sides tightly to enclose everything. The warmed tortilla helps prevent breaking and makes folding easier.
- Cook the Crunch Wrap: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and place the wrapped Crunch Wrap seam-side down. Cook until golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook the other side until equally crisp. This seals the wrap and creates an irresistible crust.
Notes
- Don’t skip warming tortillas to keep them flexible and prevent cracking during folding.
- Use tostada shells instead of chips for better hold and crunch.
- Press slightly on the wrap while cooking for an even crispness and heat distribution.
- Customize portion sizes to suit your appetite—make mini wraps for snacks or full-sized for meals.
- Double melting cheese by layering inside and on top creates an extra gooey texture.
