Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- Kool-Aid Powder: 1 packet (about 1 oz) of your favorite fruity flavor
- Unflavored Gelatin: 3 tablespoons
- Cold Water: 1 cup
- Sugar (optional): 1-2 tablespoons
- Honey or Corn Syrup (optional): 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin evenly over 1 cup of cold water in a small saucepan. Let it soak and absorb the water for about 5 minutes to ensure smooth dissolution.
- Heat the Mixture: Place the saucepan over low heat and gently stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved, about 3 to 5 minutes. Avoid boiling to maintain the proper gel texture.
- Add the Kool-Aid Powder and Sweetener: Stir in the Kool-Aid powder along with any sugar and honey or corn syrup if using. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are completely dissolved and combined.
- Pour into Molds: Carefully transfer the gummy mixture into silicone molds or a shallow dish lined with parchment paper. Use fun-shaped molds for an attractive presentation and easy removal.
- Refrigerate to Set: Place the molds in the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour until the gummies are firm and have a chewy texture.
Notes
- Always bloom gelatin in cold water before heating to ensure smooth texture.
- Do not boil the mixture as high heat can ruin the gelatin’s ability to set properly.
- Use silicone molds for easy release without breaking your gummies.
- Experiment with mixing different Kool-Aid flavors for layered or combined fruit tastes.
- Store gummies in airtight containers to keep them fresh and chewy for up to one week.
