Mini Pecan Pies

Mini Pecan Pies

Mini Pecan Pies offer a perfect combination of a flaky, crispy crust and a luscious, gooey pecan filling. These bite-sized desserts are quick to bake, easy to customize, and bring rich, buttery, nutty flavors to any occasion. Ideal for holiday gatherings or casual treats, they are perfectly portioned and irresistibly crunchy with a smooth, caramel-like filling.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 mini pecan pies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • Pie crust dough (classic flaky dough for buttery, crisp base)

Filling

  • 1 cup chopped pecans (fresh)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Roll out your pie crust dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into small circles to fit mini muffin tins or tart pans. Press the dough gently into each well, trimming any excess edges.
  2. Make the filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth and combined. Stir in chopped pecans for the perfect filling texture.
  3. Assemble the pies: Pour the pecan filling evenly into each prepared crust, filling almost to the top but leaving a bit of room to prevent overflow while baking.
  4. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the Mini Pecan Pies for 20-25 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  5. Cool and remove: Allow the pies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before carefully removing them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients to help the filling blend smoothly and bake evenly.
  • Don’t overfill the crust to prevent spills and ensure even baking.
  • Chop pecans roughly to add texture and crunchy bites.
  • Optionally, pre-bake the crust lightly (blind bake) to avoid soggy bottoms.
  • Cool pies thoroughly to allow the filling to set for perfect slices.
