Instructions
- Cook the Bacon and Beef: Crisp the bacon strips in a skillet until golden and crunchy. Remove and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan. Add ground beef and cook until fully browned. Halfway through, add diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant and softened.
- Prepare the Sauce: Pour tomato sauce into the browned beef mixture. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs to taste.
- Boil the Lasagna Noodles: Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and toss with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Assemble the Layers: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of beef sauce on the bottom. Lay down noodles, then sprinkle Parmesan and cheddar cheeses, and crumble bacon on top. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a thick cheese topping.
- Bake to Perfection: Cover the dish with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese on top is golden and bubbly.
