Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- Crescent Roll Dough (1 package, usually 8 oz)
- Pepperoni Slices (1 package, about 20-30 slices)
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (1 cup)
- Pizza Sauce (Optional, 1/4 cup)
- Italian Seasoning (1 tsp)
- Egg Wash (Optional, 1 beaten egg)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) as per crescent dough package instructions. Lay out crescent dough triangles on a clean surface, keeping them separate.
- Add Cheese and Pepperoni: Place 1-2 slices of pepperoni on each dough triangle. Top with a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese. Add a spoonful of pizza sauce and a pinch of Italian seasoning if desired.
- Roll and Seal: Starting from the wider end of each triangle, carefully roll up the dough, tucking in the edges to seal the fillings inside and prevent leaks during baking.
- Optional Egg Wash and Bake: Lightly brush each roll with beaten egg for a shiny golden crust. Arrange rolls spaced evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until puffed up and golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let rolls cool for a few minutes so the cheese sets slightly. Serve warm for the best gooey, melty experience.
Notes
- Let crescent dough sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before rolling to prevent tearing.
- Do not overfill rolls to avoid filling leaks during baking.
- Space rolls evenly on the baking sheet to ensure even cooking and browning.
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
- Best served warm right out of the oven for maximum gooeyness.
