Pumpkin Spice Truffles

Pumpkin Spice Truffles

Pumpkin Spice Truffles are a cozy autumn treat combining smooth pumpkin puree, warm fall spices, and luscious creamy chocolate. These truffles offer a perfect blend of spicy-sweet flavors and a melt-in-your-mouth texture, ideal for gifting or indulging during the fall season.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 25 minutes
  • Yield: 24 truffles 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup smooth unsweetened pumpkin puree
  • 8 ounces high-quality chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (dark, milk, or white)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pumpkin Spice Ganache: In a medium saucepan, gently heat the heavy cream with the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice until warm and fragrant, but not boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate until smooth and glossy. Add butter and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until firm enough to scoop.
  2. Shape the Truffles: Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, portion the firm ganache mixture and roll it between your palms to create smooth, even balls. Work quickly if the ganache softens, and refrigerate balls again if needed to firm up before coating.
  3. Coat the Truffles: Melt more chocolate in a double boiler or microwave in short intervals. Dip each truffle ball into the melted chocolate, using a fork to lift and tap off excess coating. Place on parchment paper to set. You can also roll the truffles in cocoa powder, crushed nuts, or powdered sugar for alternative coatings.
  4. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the coated truffles for at least 30 minutes until the outer layer hardens. Serve chilled or at room temperature for best creamy texture and rich flavor experience.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for smoother melt and richer flavor.
  • Proper chilling is essential for shaping and coating the truffles.
  • Avoid overheating the cream to preserve flavor and smoothness.
  • Work quickly and keep your hands cool during shaping to prevent melting.
  • Prepare parchment paper and utensils before starting for an efficient process.
