Instructions
- Prep the Steak: Start with tender steak cut into bite-sized cubes. Pat them dry thoroughly to ensure a good sear. Lightly season with salt and black pepper to enhance the natural beef flavors.
- Make the Sticky Glaze: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce (or tamari), honey or brown sugar, freshly minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth and well combined.
- Sear the Steak: Heat olive or sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak cubes in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to develop a caramelized crust, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes until browned on all sides.
- Add the Glaze: Pour the prepared sweet and sticky sauce over the seared steak bites in the pan. Stir well to coat all pieces evenly. Allow the glaze to thicken and cling to the meat as it cooks for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Finish and Garnish: Remove the pan from heat. Sprinkle sliced green onions and optional chili flakes or toasted sesame seeds on top. Serve immediately to enjoy the best flavor and texture.
