Instructions
- Prep the chicken: Trim any excess fat from the chicken pieces and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels to help the coating adhere better and crisp up beautifully.
- Set up your breading stations: Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour mixed with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; another with beaten eggs; and the last with panko breadcrumbs seasoned lightly with salt and pepper.
- Coat the chicken: Dredge each chicken piece first in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by pressing firmly into the panko breadcrumbs until fully coated and the coating sticks well.
- Bake to perfection: Arrange the coated chicken pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet or, preferably, on a wire rack set inside a baking sheet for extra crispiness. Lightly drizzle or brush the pieces with olive oil or melted butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even crisping on both sides.
- Glaze with hot honey: Remove the chicken once golden and crispy. While still warm, brush each piece generously with hot honey glaze, allowing the residual heat to melt it into a sticky, spicy coating that clings perfectly to the crunchy crust.
