Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 4 fresh salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Bang Bang Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2–3 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to heat preference)
- 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Instructions
- Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, garlic powder, and lime juice. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the heat or sweetness to your preference.
- Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper to enhance natural flavors and aid in achieving a crisp sear.
- Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the edges turn golden and the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until cooked through but still moist.
- Coat with Bang Bang Sauce: Remove the salmon from heat and generously spoon the Bang Bang sauce over each fillet. For extra flavor, drizzle additional sauce before serving.
- Garnish and Serve: Top the salmon with fresh garnishes like chopped green onions, cilantro, or sesame seeds. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Use fresh salmon fillets for best texture and to avoid fishy aftertaste.
- Do not overcook salmon; remove from heat when it flakes easily with a fork.
- Customize the Bang Bang sauce by adding a squeeze of lime or a pinch of smoked paprika for unique flavor twists.
- Allow salmon to rest for a minute after cooking to retain juices.
- Use a hot pan to ensure crispy skin and prevent sticking during searing.
