Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts (tender and juicy)
- 4 strips of thick-cut bacon (crispy and salty)
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing (creamy and tangy)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (melts perfectly)
- 4 slices sourdough bread (sturdy and slightly tangy)
- 2 tablespoons butter (for toasting)
Optional Spices
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika if using. Cook them in a hot skillet with a small amount of oil over medium heat until golden brown and fully cooked, about 6-7 minutes per side. Ensure the inside stays juicy by not overcooking. Let rest briefly before slicing.
- Cook the Bacon: While the chicken cooks, crisp the bacon strips in a separate pan or bake in the oven until crunchy. Drain excess grease on paper towels.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Spread a generous layer of ranch dressing evenly on each slice of sourdough bread. Layer the sliced chicken, crispy bacon, and cheddar cheese evenly on two slices, then top with the remaining bread slices.
- Toast the Sandwich: Lightly butter the outside of the sandwich. Toast it on a heated skillet or panini press over medium heat until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Press down with a spatula or panini press to help melt the cheese and crisp the bread.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove from heat, slice if desired, and serve immediately while hot for maximum flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use thick-cut bacon for extra crunch and flavor.
- Do not overcook the chicken; keep it juicy by cooking until just done and let it rest before slicing.
- Spread ranch dressing evenly on bread to ensure every bite is flavorful.
- Butter the outside of the bread to achieve a crispy, golden crust and prevent sogginess.
- Press the sandwich while toasting to melt cheese thoroughly and crisp the bread.
